Estimates & walkthroughs

How do I get an estimate?

Use the project planner — it takes about a minute and ends with you picking a day and time window for an on-site walkthrough. We confirm by text, look at the surfaces with you, and send a written scope. You can also message @prodigypaints on Instagram.

Is the walkthrough free?

Yes. The walkthrough and the written scope that follows are free and carry no obligation.

What happens at the walkthrough?

We measure, look closely at the surfaces, note repairs, talk through colors and sheens, and confirm access and scheduling. You get a written estimate afterwards that separates what is included from what is not.

What does the estimate include?

Scope and surfaces, preparation and repairs, materials, the number of coats, timing assumptions and payment terms. If something is excluded, it is listed as excluded so there are no surprises.

How long is the estimate valid?

The estimate states its own validity period. Material prices move, so if a few months pass we simply refresh the numbers.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos help us plan, and for small jobs we can give a range. For a firm number on a whole home or exterior we need to see the surfaces in person.

Working with Prodigy

Do you handle both residential and commercial work?

Yes. Homes, rentals, HOAs, offices, retail and light commercial spaces. Choose the property type in the planner so we can plan access and scheduling correctly.

Who will be on site?

Kevin Gonzalez — owner and operator, with 12 years in the trade — walks every project and is your point of contact from walkthrough to final look. The crew works to the same prep standard on every job.

Do you do specialty finishes like lime wash?

Yes. Lime wash, multi-tone exteriors and accent techniques are part of what Kevin has honed over the years. Mention it in the planner so we bring the right samples.

What areas do you serve?

The Phoenix West Valley and surrounding communities. If you are outside the area, ask — larger projects are often worth the drive.

Do I need to be home while you work?

Not necessarily. Many clients give us access and check in by text. We do like a quick look together at the end of the job.

How do you protect my home?

Floors, furniture, fixtures and landscaping are covered and masked before any prep begins. Preparation is written into your scope so you know exactly what is protected.

What paint do you use?

Professional-grade products from major manufacturers, chosen for the surface and the exposure. We list the product and sheen for each surface on your estimate.

Interior painting

Do I need to move furniture?

Large pieces can stay; we move them to the center and cover them. Small items and breakables are best moved by you. The planner asks about this so we can plan the time.

How many coats do you apply?

Two finish coats on walls is standard. Dark-to-light changes and bare repairs get primer first.

Which sheen should I use?

Matte or eggshell on most walls, satin in kitchens and baths, semi-gloss on trim and doors. We bring samples to the walkthrough.

How long does a room take?

Depends on size, repairs and the number of colors. We give a schedule in the estimate rather than a guess here.

Can you paint cabinets?

Yes. Cabinet work is degreased, sanded, primed with a bonding primer and sprayed for a smooth factory-style finish.

Exterior painting

What does exterior prep include?

Power washing, stucco and siding repairs, caulking, and primer where the surface needs it. Then two coats of exterior-grade paint on the body and trim.

How do you handle HOA color rules?

Bring your HOA palette to the walkthrough and we will work within it. We can help prepare the approval submission.

What time of year is best?

Most of the year works in the Valley. In peak summer we start early and paint shaded sides first; rain days are rescheduled.

Do you paint garage doors, gates and railings?

Yes, with rust-inhibiting primer and a durable enamel. They can be scoped with the house or on their own.

Power washing, epoxy & repairs

Will power washing damage my stucco?

Not with the right technique. Stucco and painted surfaces get a low-pressure soft wash; concrete gets high pressure.

How long until I can park on an epoxy floor?

Foot traffic in about a day, vehicles after the full cure — typically a few days. Exact times for the products used are in your scope.

What should I send for an epoxy quote?

Approximate square footage, what the floor is used for, and photos of its condition — cracks, stains, old coatings.

Can you fix damage before painting?

Yes. Stucco and drywall repair is a core service: cracks, holes, water damage and texture matching, blended so the finished surface reads as one.

Will a drywall patch be invisible?

On textured walls with a full repaint, yes. A blended patch on an old wall can show in raking light — when that is the case we recommend painting the whole wall and say so up front.

Scheduling & payment

How far out are you booking?

It changes with the season. Reserve a walkthrough and we will give you real start dates rather than a guess.

What are your payment terms?

Terms are stated on every estimate before acceptance. We do not ask for full payment up front.

What if I need to reschedule?

Text us. Weather and life happen; we reschedule without drama and keep you posted on the new dates.

What happens after I reserve a walkthrough?

Your request goes straight to the owner, who texts you to confirm the day and window. No call centers, no automated quotes.
