FAQ

Interior painting questions.

Straight answers from the crew that does the work.

All questions →
Do I need to move furniture?

Large pieces can usually stay; we move them to the center of the room and cover them. Small items, wall art and breakables are best moved by you before we arrive. The planner asks about this so we can plan the time.

How many coats do you apply?

Two finish coats on walls is standard. Color changes from dark to light, or bare drywall repairs, get a primer coat first — that is written into your scope.

Which sheen should I use inside?

Matte or eggshell on most walls, satin in kitchens and baths, and semi-gloss on trim and doors. We bring samples to the walkthrough so you can see the difference in your light.

Do you do lime wash or other specialty finishes?

Yes. Kevin has worked with lime wash, multi-tone schemes and other specialty finishes for years. They need different prep and application than standard paint, so tell us in the planner and we will bring samples to the walkthrough.

Can you match my existing color?

Yes. We take a sample or read the color with a scanner and match it at the paint store. If the old paint has faded, we will tell you where a full wall repaint is needed instead of a touch-up.
